Homeland and Obi-Wan Kenobi star joins Zack Snyder's Netflix movie

Homeland and Obi-Wan Star Kenobi Rupert Friend have climbed Netflix’s Rebel Moon, a fantasy sci-fi epic movie from Zack Snyder.

Hollywood reporter wrote that friend and Stuart Martin together joined the upcoming blockbuster cast, who had displayed high profile names including the Justice Ray Fisher league actor, Marvel’s Djimon Hunnam, Charlie Hunnam.

Rebel Moon is located on the edge of the galaxy, where the peaceful colony is threatened by the Tyranian Regent forces called Baliisarius.

Desperate to fight, the colonies sent a woman with a mysterious past (Kingsman’s Sofia Boutella) to look for warriors from the nearest planets to help them survive.

THR reported that a friend would play the main criminal of the film, who would lead the troops against the invaders, while Martin was also said to play criminals.

Rebel Moon, which began as a star wars pitch, would be directed and produced together by Snyder, while he had also written a script with the co-screenwriter troops Dead Shay Hatten and 300 Co-Writer Kurt Johnstad.

Previous friends have a high profile role including Peter Quinn in the country, agent 47 in Hitman: Agent 47 and Prince Albert in Young Victoria, while he also has a role in the upcoming Disney + Star Wan Kenobi.

Martin, meanwhile, has starred in Jamestown and Miss Scarlet and Duke, while he also has a role in the thieves produced by Snyder, the prequel of the dead soldiers.

Snyder had previously dropped some instructions on what we can expect from Rebel Moon, saying that the film embodies “I grew up as a fan of Akira Kurosawa, Star Wars fan”.

“This is my love for a sci-fi and a giant adventure,” he said. “My hope is that this is also a massive IP and the universe that can be built.”

Rebel Moon will launch on Netflix. No release date has yet been announced.
